About the Internship
Swisscom is always keen on attracting and developing the best talents. As part of the leading telecom and tech company in Switzerland, you will work on real projects that have real impact. From day one, you will be part of an international team collaborating across Switzerland, Rotterdam, and Riga, contributing to innovative solutions in Swisscom’s digital transformation. This means working hands‑on in backend, cloud, or full‑stack development, applying your Computer Science skills to real technical challenges.

Our internship program runs twice a year, starting on February 1st or September 1st. In this 6 months internship you will work in agile teams using Scrum and SAFe, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Who are you?
You are a student enrolled in the last year of your HBO or Dutch university program in the field of Computer Science, Informatica, or any other similar field.
You are studying or living in the Netherlands.
You are willing to contribute to an international team and you have an agile mindset.
You are curious and responsible.
You have a good level of English; any other language is a plus. Please note that for non-EU students, it is necessary to provide the NUFFIC Agreement for the 6-month internship from your university in order to be eligible.

Improving Reliability & Automation in a Cloud‑Native DevOps Platform
Join an international DevOps platform team working on cloud‑native systems used by multiple engineering teams. You’ll contribute to automation, reliability, and operational tooling around Kubernetes, microservices, and DevOps practices. The project involves real production environments, platform engineering, and close collaboration with experienced DevOps and SRE engineers. Perfect for interns curious about large‑scale systems, automation, and reliability.

Automation, Monitoring & Alerting (AMA) in SAP RMCA
Our team runs and develops the SAP RMCA (Revenue Management & Contract Accounting) platform behind Swisscom's debtor management: invoicing, incoming payments, dunning, collections and receivables for B2C, B2B and our 2nd and 3rd brands. Fullstack Projects
AI Agent for Automated Cloud Incident Response
Build features for an AWS-native AIOps agent that helps Site Reliability Engineers respond to incidents faster. You will work with Python microservices on ECS Fargate, a Large Language Model agent (Amazon Bedrock), and a live dashboard. Tackle real challenges in Microservices, Cloud, DevOps and Generative AI: alert ingestion, pattern detection, automated runbooks and root-cause analysis. Modern stack, real users, real impact.

Real-Time Agile Planning Dashboard with an AI Assistant
Help build a live command center that teams use to run their agile planning. Work across a modern React + TypeScript frontend and a Python data engine that pulls real-time data, plus an AI assistant powered by a Large Language Model (Amazon Bedrock). Deployed on AWS with Microservices, Docker, CI/CD and Cloud. You will ship features used daily by real engineering teams and see the impact of your work immediately.

Cloud-Native Platform Engineering & Developer Experience (AnyOrg)
Join a team building enterprise platform services used by engineers across Swisscom. You will work on cloud-native Front/backed services, platform automation, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling and security integrations. The project offers hands-on experience with modern software engineering practices, DevOps, GitLab pipelines and cloud technologies while collaborating with experienced engineers in an international Agile environment.

Towards Autonomous Code Repair: Agentic AI for Bug Analysis and Resolution An autonomous AI agent continuously monitors Jira for newly assigned defects. Upon detection, it leverages product and architecture context to analyse the root cause, then attempts an automated fix by opening a merge request in GitLab. Finally, it documents its findings and reasoning directly in the Jira ticket — closing the loop between bug discovery, code repair, and team communication with minimal human intervention.

The application transformation goal is to enable the Swisscom application team in its transformation of their application to have a fully secured, cloud native application running on the curated for Swisscom AWS infrastructure (iAWS) or On Prem on iKube2.

AI assisted lab operations (AI, API, Scripting, Routing/Switching)
This internship project investigates how AI tools, APIs, and automation scripting can accelerate the deployment, maintenance, and documentation of networking laboratory environments. The project will explore AI-assisted configuration generation, automated infrastructure management through APIs, and scripting solutions for routing and switching environments. The objective is to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance documentation quality in modern IT labs.
